Lipayran Island, Cebu #urgentcalls #YolandaPH #reliefPH

via Aaron John Mendoyos on Facebook, last update 6:06PM:
“Lipayran still in need of relief operations as of today, November 14.”

His cousin Olive Ybanez calls for help for LIPAYRAN ISLAND, in Bantayan Cebu. timestamp: 12 November 2013 at 10:48. Culled from the original FB status:

“The small island in Bantayan called Lipiran is a fishing village with no fresh water source. <…> It is completely damaged and so are the other islands around it. The 2010 census shows it at a population o f 3,067. Now that same population is without food, water, medicine and shelter. No relief has come from the government and none from other organizations. Bantayan Island itself was ravaged so while we should expect something, it is also struggling with meager resources and limited relief goods that it cannot completely attend to the residents in the small islands. Most of the support it’s getting is also through relief efforts of its sons and daughters more than official relief agencies. Lipayran is also too small that it is off the radar of the media and everyone else.”

for Malapascua, Camotes, Bantayan, Daan Bantayan, worldwide donations: Bundles of Joy #YolandaPH #reliefPH

POSTED ON November 14, 2013 AT 6:07 am

A local initiative, Bundles of Joy has been set up particularly for victims of Typhoon Yolanda.

“Bundles of Joy is a grassroots volunteer effort to organize our relief work in the Visayas region to help Typhoon Haiyan survivors. At the moment, we are deploying our “Bundles of Joy” to the Malapasciua, Camotes Islands, Bantayan Islands, Tacloban City and Ormoc. Please support relief efforts by sending a bundle of joy for immediate assistance.

As much as we want to help everyone who have asked for Bundles of Joy, we want it to be as organised as possible and have transparent reporting for our donors. We also want to do it 100 Bundles of Joy at a time to ensure that more areas are reached. We only work with communities that are familiar to us and the area has not already been reached by other relief operations based on the Inventory of Disaster Relief Efforts by Ramon Aboitiz Foundation (RAFI). Our updated target deployment for this week is as follows:

Nov 13 – Logon, Malapascua
Nov 14- San Francisco, Camotes
Nov 15- Sitio Sulangan, Bantayan
Nov 16- Sitio Uma, Manan-aw, Lutaw, Mahayahay, Medellin
Nov 16 – Sitio Lantay, Daan Bantayan
Nov 16 – Madridejos, Bantayan”

A $10 dollar donation will purchase 1 Bundle of Joy which includes the following:
1 eco-friendly bag
1 pack crackers (7 oz)
2 candles
1 set of clothing
5 canned goods
4 1L bottles of water
