Kawil Tours which does the Culion-Coron Palawan Expeditions is raising funds for the repari of Culion boats and its own Kawil boat so that relief goods might be brought to Culion, one of those towns badly affected by Typhoon Yolanda.
“We intend to use our boat, with a capacity of at least 1000 kilos, to be used for relief operations. Culion’s resources are depleting and we need to urgently transport relief goods in the area. We find this as a longer-term solution to distribute relief goods to affected islands in Culion. Final assessment will be released by next week or earlier.
For now, we are asking for your donations so we can help in the relief operations of Culion. Why fix the Kawil boat?
a) Because it has minor damage compared to other boats with the same capacity of 1000 kilos. Most of the Culion boats were totally wrecked or have incurred major damage, and would take longer time to repair.
b) It is the only boat committed to provide relief support SOLELY for relief operations not just in Culion town but also for Tagbanuas island or “destinos” that need help as well.
c) We are partnering with SLB to make sure funds are used and allocated properly. Liquidation will also be posted right after purchase of supplies.
